Being an uncle

Growing up as a kid, I always looked up to my uncles. They would be another father figure for me. I mean I love my dad and he's my number one role model and also my hero, but uncles to me are like more towards friends and brothers area. They will always look after you because we're family but can also joke around and be just guys and be stupid.

Now that I'm all grown up, I want to be an uncle myself. Seeing so much people having nieces and nephews makes me want to have some of my own. I'll always be telling me sisters and them to hurry up and have kids so I can have little brats to take care of and spoil them like crazy. If I was to have a niece, I would treat her like a little princess and spoil her whatever she wants. But if I had a nephew, I would still spoil him but treat him differently from my niece. I mean, treating him not in a bad way at all but a different way of discipline.

I would be more tough on my nephews because when I grew up, I had it pretty tough time. I would always be the smallest but having my uncles pick on me made me tougher. I'm not sure if this fit for every guys or just me but it did made me who I am today. I'm not saying all nephews should be treated this way because it depends on the family. For me, I would just be more tough on my nephew if he was to be a trouble maker, I would raise my voice. I would never lay a hand on them at all. It's just not accpectable at all. I would pick on him and wrestle with him but that would be all as for being tougher on my nephew. But I would want him to like me more than my brothers, so be the cooler uncle.

For my nieces, like I said before. I would treat her like a little princess. Even if she was to be acting like a brat, I would let her get her way. I'm not sure but I guess it's different for boys and girls. I wouldn't raise my voice on her if I really have to but it would be rarely.

I guess for me, gender does matter of how you want to discipline your kid. I wouldn't know because I don't have kids of my own and I also don't have nieces and nephews of my own so I can't say much. I would treat both of them differently but not in a bad way. I just can't wait to have little nieces and nephews of my own to call my booger brats. Having them coming over so I can babysit them and just having them to run to my arms and calling me uncle Lister.

UFC 137 Penn Vs. Diaz

On October 29, 2011, two top walterweight contenders; B.J. Penn and Nick Diaz was highlighted in the main event to fight each other in UFC 137. It was one card to watch because two big named fighters are stepping in the same octagon and are facing each other to see who is the better fighter on that night. If B.J. Penn or Nick Diaz win on that night would have most likely to get a chance to fight for the walterweight champion. It was a good fight and Nick Diaz pulled out the victory in the end. He was the better fighter on that night.

It was pretty disappointing to see B.J. Penn lose on that night. I was cheering for Penn to win that fight against Diaz. Also, I was cheering for Penn because he is one of my favorite fighter to watch in the octagon. It was heartbreaking to see Penn getting picked apart by Diaz. To see one of my favorite fighter to lose to a fighter I also I didn't like that much was very disrupting.

Both of them put up a good fight but I personaly believe Diaz proformed a whole lot better than Penn. As much as it hurt me to say this but he did. Diaz picked him apart round by round. Also Diaz being the taller and having the longer reach made it very difficult for Penn to engaged. With Diaz using his long reach and landing the more and cleaner shots, he won with a fashonable unanimous decision.

I believed Penn could had won the fight. In my eyes, Penn could had won the fight if he had a better cardio. Even in my other post, I would criticize his cardio because that's all he lacks. In the first round he fought Diaz, he looked really good with his boxing. He was out boxing Diaz and was countering Diaz with clean and beautiful punches to the head. By the second and third round, Penn was gassed out and Diaz took advantage of that.

It showed in the first round that Penn was winning the fight because he wasn't gassed. Penn is a very talented fighter but talent can take you so far. He relies on his talent too much. Now if you throw in hard work with talent, that can take you forever. It was that one thing that could had made Penn that winner that night and it was cardio which that is what he lacks the most.
